Here is my problem: My husband celebrates me to the world. And the way he does it so effortlessly should really touch my heart. He does it the way every woman would dream it; perfect gentleman, caring and loving. Best father to our kids, hard worker who makes sure everything is going on smoothly at home for us.
We travel a lot just for the fun of it. We live comfortably.
His friends are jealous of him sometimes because he shows off his wife to the world. Sometimes, I do not even think it and he’s gotten it for me. He tries his very best for us, most times, for me. I am my very best for him too. And I would want to believe that’s why he loves me.
BUT… He’s having an affair.
I am supposed to be content with what I have in my marriage. I am supposed to be happy. I am supposed to be playing along. I am supposed to be acting the part. I am supposed to be…
But I am not happy. He is cheating on me, and I have proof. If I confront him, he would definitely apologise, but Dave, he will never stop cheating and lying and trying to cover up his deeds. His mother once told me, that inasmuch as she loves her son, he is just like his father for the most times.
She survived hers by enduring. She stayed for the sake of her children and tried to keep their father’s fault from their knowing. And I remember she told me to strengthen my strength should it ever get to that point in my marriage.
