Actor and politician, John Dumelo believes that the decision to lift Ghana’s lockdown was bad.

The parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency expressed disappointment at the decision by the government to lift the partial lockdown.

President Akufo-Addo lifted the three-week lockdown in his address to the nation on Sunday, April 19.

He however stressed that the ban on social gatherings and the closure of Ghana’s borders are still in force.

President Akufo-Addo further extended the closure of Ghana’s borders by two more weeks.

Ghana as at the time of the suspension of the lockdown had recorded 1,042 confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country.

John Dumelo said on Rainbow Radio that the cases of covid-19 will increase due to the decision taken.

“If we don’t take care, the number of infections will increase, and when the cases increase, are we adequately prepared to manage the increase? I don’t think the lifting of the lockdown was a step in the right direction,” he said.

Ghana has currently recorded 1,279 cases of coronavirus as at April 24, 2020.
