Did the absence of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy make my VGMA plaque a Senegalese award? – Ras Kuuku jabs critics

Ras Kuuku has reacted to claims that the absence of some big names in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ category gave him a victory.

The usual top competitors, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have been banned indefinitely by the VGMA board.

As a result, the two were not nominated for the 2020 VGMA ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ category.

However, Ras Kuuku has jabbed critics who are downplaying his victory.

He asked if the absence of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy makes his VGMA award a Senegalese award.

“Did the absence of certain people from the category make the award I won, a Senegal award? Does it make it a Mali award?”, he quizzed.

Ras Kuuku is not perturbed by negative comments from critics and he is determined to work harder to win more awards.

“Winning this award means a lot and it also tells me to work hard and that there is more room for improvement.”

He touted his album ‘Kuntununku’ as one of the best after the famous ‘Pae Mu Ka’.
