Legendary music producer, Zapp Mallet, has put out a very controversial statement about hit tracks and songs.
According to him, “every song can be a hit but not every hit can be a song”.
In an interview on 3FM with Blakk Kobby, Zapp Mallet explained that everybody can just make music and promote it on social media but not all of these social media hits can be classified as songs.
The debate over the clear distinction between between song and music still lingers on .
While some experts conclude that a song can have lyrics while music can be with or without lyrics, others think both are the same.
In Ghana, Zapp Mallet has worked with very renowned artists like Kojo Antwi, Daasebre Gyamena, Irene Logan, Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Obour and many others.
The veteran music producer claims that fame and money are add-ons in the music business which he as a producer does not look at.
