Ezeigbo Ghana Foundation, a foundation set up by the Igbos of Nigeria, currently living in Ghana has fed 1000 people at East Legon in Accra.

The foundation, whose long term goal is to feed 1000 people every day, has decided to start small and build up momentum.

Speaking at the launch of the ‘Feed the Poor’ initiative, the King of the Igbo Community in Ghana, His Royal Majesty Eze Chukwudi Ihenetu said:

“We want to help to feed the less privilege in our midst. but u should know it is impossible to feed everyone, it is impossible to provide for everybody. But the little we can, we must do it. So, today as myself and the elders flag this project, it is our intention to feed one thousand people every day, but as we start now, we will feed 1000 every Friday.”

He also debunked rumours that, East Legon had no poor people, saying wherever the rich reside, the poor can be found also.

Ezeigbo Ghana Foundation’s ‘Feed the Poor’ project hopes to change location every Friday, going to Fadama, Nima, Jamestown and as many communities as the project can afford to feed.
