Father of Obour dies of coronavirus at Ridge Hospital

Another person has died of coronavirus in Ghana bringing the total number of deaths to four.

The deceased according to JoyNews is an elderly man who died at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

He was reportedly taken to the facility on Thursday showing symptoms of the virus.

JoyNews also reported that the deceased is the father of a popular musician in Ghana.

Further checks have indicated that the musician is the former MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour.

The musician failed to disclose the travel history of his father following his admission.

It was later discovered that the elderly man had recently returned from a trip to the United States.

The father of the musician died before the results of a COVID-19 test which proved positive was ready.

Meanwhile, the deceased is said to have come into contact with about 15 health workers who were unaware of his COVID-19 status.

These health workers are currently self-isolating and the hospital authorities are also preparing to disinfect the emergency centre.
