Television and radio personality, Afia Schwarzenegger claims that some Ghanaian female celebrities have resorted to prostitution to enable them survive.
The controversial personality stated that many celebrities have lost deals with alcoholic beverage companies after the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) placed a ban on celebrities advertising alcoholic products.
MyNewsGh.com reports that Afia Schwarzenegger, said “because of this policy, female celebrities have to engage in prostitution to survive”.
”We have over fifty bitters producing companies in Ghana so like if one takes even four for their promotions that would have put food on the tables of these female celebrities”.
The FDA had said that the directive is in line with a World Health Organization policy to protect minors from alcoholism.
Shatta Wale had also attacked the FDA claiming their reasons for banning celebrities is just laughable.
The artiste argued that the claim that children look up to celebrities is not a tangible reason for celebrities to be banned from getting deals.
He rather suggested that identification cards can be used as a check when selling alcoholic beverages.
