2019 has been dubbed the ‘Year of Return’ by the Ghana government and it comes along with a major celebration.
“Year of Return, Ghana 2019” is a major landmark spiritual and birth-right journey inviting the Global African family, home and abroad, to mark 400 years of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.
Due to this celebration, a number of events will take place in Ghana aside the usual programs in December.

Livespot X Festival with Cardi B
The Livespot X Festival which commences in Nigeria makes a stop in Ghana on December 8, 2019.
Female music super star, Cardi B, is headlining the anticipated concert to happen at the Accra Sports Stadium.
This will be Cardi B’s first ever performance in the West African country.
Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Teni, R2Bees, Shatta Wale, Patoranking and many other stars will also be performing.
Rapperholic Concert
The annual Rapperholic concert is hosted by Ghana’s multiple BET Award-winning artiste Sarkodie.
This year’s edition is dubbed ‘Rapperholic Unstoppable’ and promises to thrill patrons with nonstop excitement on Christmas Day at AICC.
Rapperholic concert has witnessed performances from the intentional band, The Compozers.
Almost every top Ghanaian artiste has made an appearance at Sarkodie’s concert.
Detty Rave
Nigerian artiste, Mr. Eazi organizes the annual ‘Detty Rave’ concert in Ghana.
The event is among a few that hosts foreign artistes each and every year.
Mayorkun, Maleek Berry, and others have performed at previous editions of Detty Rave concert.
American rapper, Rick Ross, is set to perform at Mr Eazi’s event on December 27, 2019
AfroNation Ghana
AfroNation Festival makes a stop in Ghana to commemorate the ‘Year of Return’ festival.
The event is scheduled for December 27 – 30 at the Laboma Beach in Labadi, Accra.
Big music acts gracing the concert include Burna Boy, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and others.
Afrochella
Another exciting event you can’t miss this December is the Afrocentric show dubbed ‘Afrochella’.
The festival will host a number of top artistes from the African continent.
This event has hosted legends like Daddy Lumba at its previous edition.
Afrochella 2019 comes off from December 28 – 31 at El-wak Sports Stadium.
