The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has activated an expedited passport replacement process for Ghanaians whose travel documents were lost or damaged in the recent devastating floods that have swept across the country.
In a statement issued on July 3, 2026, the Ministry extended its deepest sympathies to all affected individuals and communities, acknowledging the immense toll the disaster has taken, including tragic loss of life and widespread destruction of property.
Recognising that many citizens may now find themselves without valid identification due to the floods, the Ministry has established a dedicated emergency support window to address the situation swiftly.
Affected persons are urged to contact the Ministry between Friday, July 3, and Friday, July 17, 2026, via the dedicated hotline: 055 936 8563.
Callers are required to provide their full name, date of birth, gender (as recorded in the lost or damaged passport), and a valid phone number for follow-up communication.
The Ministry has assured the public that all verified replacement applications will be processed and issued within one week of contact, significantly shorter than the standard processing timeline.
Reaffirming its solidarity with flood victims, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its commitment to supporting the government’s broader recovery efforts and ensuring that affected citizens are not further burdened by administrative delays during this difficult period.
