Multimedia sports presenter, Gary Al Smith, chose to rain curses on a Facebook user after the latter questioned his COVID-19 status.
This happened after Gary Al Smith posted a video of his tour around the UGMC hospital, in a bid to give his followers an insight of what happens in the COVID isolation ward, where he is currently being kept.
Early on, the celebrated sports journalist took to Twitter to rant about how bad Ghana’s health system was, branding it as ‘messed up’ and promised to give his followers a true insight of the situation.
This, naturally did not go down well with most people, who thought Gary should focus on being a patient rather than a journalist and not probe into affairs of healthcare providers.
It was on this basis, that a Facebook user, Yaw Adu Asamoah, jabbed Gary saying, ‘U went there for propaganda mission. We know u already. U are not sick.’
Gary, at this point lost his cool and thought cursing out the Facebook user was the best response to the jab.
He responded saying, ‘Yao If I am not sick and faking it, may COVID-19 kill me. If I am sick and not faking it, may you get affected by COVID-19 and may it teach you a lesson.’
He went on to top his weird prayer off with an ‘AMEN’.
Many of Gary’s fans have rebuked the journalist and asked him to retract his curses since it was highly unnecessary.
