Ghanaians are mourning following the demise of flight lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings.

Reports have indicated that he must have passed away from complications of COVID-19 on Thursday morning, November 12, 2020.
Contrarily, it looks like some Ghanaians are happy hearing the demise of the former president largely due to the works of Rawlings when he was young and wild.

Thus, daughter of Nana Serwaa Acheampong reacting to Rawlings demise sounded unapologetic largely due to the fact that Rawlings made her fatherless at ag 6, therefore, she can’t shed tears for a “beast” like Rawlings.

Following her comment, Ghanaians on social media have chastised her accordingly via uncouth words. And from nowhere, Akoto Afrifa who happens to be the father of the late General Katakyie Afrifa has spit another venom.

In a series of posts on Facebook, General Afrifa’s son expressed joy at the death of the former president for obvious reasons.

But don’t get it twisted, General Katakyie Afrifa was one of the eight army generals who were executed by Rawlings and his Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) in the June 4 Uprising in 1979, has spared no feelings.

With this, it’s no surprise that General Afrifa’s son face could be seen beaming with smiles following Rawlings’ untimely demise.

Historically, General Afrifa was a leading member of the National Liberation Council (NLC) which overthrew Kwame Nkrumah’s government on February 24, 1966.

He became the leader of NLC and head of state a few months later and proceeded to hand over to K.A. Busia in 1969.

10 years after handing over and retiring to his hometown of Krobo, a small town near Mampong in the Ashanti region, he was killed as part of a ‘house-cleaning’ exercise by Rawlings’ AFRC.
