The Ghana-China Friendship Association (GHACHIFA) has commended President John Dramani Mahama and China’s President Xi Jinping, for strengthening the longstanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

GHACHIFA, in a statement signed by Dr Benjamin Anyagre, General Secretary, said their continued cooperation in the spirit of national pride and shared global responsibility had strengthened bilateral cooperation and people-to-people ties between Ghana and China – relations that were historically initiated by Chairman Mao Zedong, founder of the People’s Republic of China and Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President.

It added that their renewed commitment to mutual development and progressive diplomacy was commendable.

“This conscientious and strategic collaboration – rooted in respect for sovereignty and the pursuit of the welfare of their peoples – deserves high recognition. The enduring friendship between Ghana and China stands as a symbol of resilience, mutual respect, and determination towards a shared vision of peace, development, and prosperity,” it said.

GHACHIFA reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the People’s Republic of China, reiterating its firm support for the One-China Principle and the Three Joint Communiqués, which formed the foundation of China–Ghana diplomatic relations.
