Titao, located in the volatile northern region of Burkina Faso, has been under a siege-like condition due to frequent attacks by Islamist militants. The area has been a hotbed of armed group activity since 2019.

The Ministry assured the public that further information would be released as soon as it becomes available from the ongoing investigation.
