Ghana’s diplomatic community is in mourning following the death of Sanni Jajah, the Deputy Head of Mission and Deputy Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The news was confirmed by his uncle, Yussif Jajah, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, who announced the passing in a Facebook post on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
“Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the MP wrote.
At the time of his death, Ambassador Jajah was serving at Ghana’s diplomatic mission in Riyadh alongside Ghana’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Said Sinare.
As Deputy Head of Mission, he played an instrumental role in strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and Saudi Arabia.
His portfolio included providing critical support to Ghanaian pilgrims undertaking the Hajj and other Ghanaian citizens residing in the Kingdom.
The circumstances surrounding his passing have not yet been made public. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration is yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
