Ghana’s High Commissioner to UK tests positive for CoVID-19

Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), Papa Owusu-Ankomah, is reported to have tested positive for coronavirus.

The High Commissioner is currently in an Intensive Care Unit in the United Kingdom.

A JoyNews reporter who is in the UK confirmed the news.

Telegraph is reporting that over 8,000 people have died in the UK after testing positive for the coronavirus, with NHS England reporting 866 deaths in the last 24 hours alone. 

Of the new deaths announced in England today, 117 occurred on April 9 while 720 took place between April 1 and April 8. The remaining 29 deaths occurred in March, including one on March 5.

The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust has reported the highest number of deaths since the outbreak, with the new figures bringing their total to 365.
