The government has reaffirmed its commitment to support the Afia Kobi Ampem SHS through continuous investments in infrastructure, teaching facilities and learning resources, to enhance the school’s capacity to nurture future leaders in technology and innovation.
Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister, who stated this, said the outstanding achievements of the school in advance technological fields, including drone development, robotics and innovative projects, showcased the immense talent emerging from the institution.
Speaking at the 50th anniversary celebration of the school at Trabuom in the Atwima Kwanwoma district, Dr Amoakohene highlighted the remarkable journey of the school, emphasising its significant contributions to education and national development.
“This milestone reflects not just the passage of time, but the enduring spirit of excellence, discipline, and service that Afia Kobi Ampem SHS has instilled in generations of students,” he said.
He commended the school’s management team for their visionary leadership, which had propelled the institution to its current stature and said the government would continue to support the school to train and develop creative minds for the country.
The Regional Minister said the school’s accomplishments aligned perfectly with Ghana’s national vision for a technology-driven future and there was the need for public support to make the institution the leading technologically driven in the country.
Mrs Emeria Ameflu Denutsui, the Headmistress of the school, said it was important to celebrate five decades of unwavering commitment to discipline, academic excellence, and community service.
She expressed deep gratitude to all stakeholders, especially the students, staff, alumni, parents, and traditional authorities, for their unwavering support.
She emphasised that, the school remained committed towards empowering young women through quality education and equipping them with skills to thrive in an evolving technological world.
Mr Kofi Amankwa Manu, the Member of Parliament for the Atwima Kwanwoma, commended the school for its remarkable achievements and promised continued support for initiatives that enhanced education and student development.
Dr William Kwame Amankra Appiah, the Ashanti Regional Director of Education, praised the school for its achievements, innovative programmes, and pivotal role in shaping future leaders.
He highlighted the importance of continued investment in science, technology, and digital skills to ensure students remained competitive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
Traditional leaders from the area were present to show their solidarity and celebrate the institution’s milestones.
