Gov’t to present 2026 budget statement to Parliament on November 13

Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister of Finance, is expected to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government to Parliament on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

The presentation is in line with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution, to outline government’s fiscal strategy, expenditure priorities, and economic policy direction for next year.

The budget is anticipated to address key issues such as revenue mobilization, debt management, and measures to stimulate growth in critical sectors of the economy.

Mr Mahama Ayariga, Chairman of the Business Committee of Parliament and Leader of Government Business, made the announcement during the presentation of the business statement on the floor of Parliament on Friday.

Mr Ayariga, also the Majority Leader, indicated that the budget presentation formed part of the scheduled parliamentary business ending Friday, November 14, 2025.

The budget presentation is a significant annual event in Ghana’s governance process, as it provides a comprehensive overview of the government’s economic outlook and policy initiatives.

It also sets the stage for parliamentary debate and approval, ensuring that fiscal measures aligned with national development goals.

Parliamentarians, stakeholders in the private sector, and the public would be keenly watching for policy directions on taxation, infrastructure investment, social interventions, and strategies to sustain the stabilization of the Cedi in the face of global economic meltdown.
