A tragic incident occurred in Akyem Anamase near Oda in the Eastern Region, where Chief Inspector Godwin Beniba, the Station Officer at the Anamase Police Station, collapsed and died during his wedding ceremony.
The event took place at the Anamase Hotel, where Chief Inspector Beniba, accompanied by his best men, awaited the arrival of his bride, Florence Debrah. Upon entering the venue, he complained of dizziness and subsequently collapsed. Despite being rushed to the Anamase Clinic by some of the guests, medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.
The sudden passing of Chief Inspector Beniba left hundreds of attendees, including police personnel from various regions, in deep sorrow. Many were overcome with grief, and the prepared festivities were abandoned as invitees departed in mourning. The deceased’s family arranged for his body to be transported to the Oda Government Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation.
The community of Akyem Anamase has been enveloped in sadness, with residents unable to engage in the usual festive activities of the Christmas season, mourning the tragic loss of Chief Inspector Beniba.
