A group, Ahlussunna Wal-Jama’a, has warned TV3 to desist from airing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) content.

The media firm recently commenced a new program dubbed ‘The Day Show’ with focus on the LGBT community.

In a press release, the group expressed it’s resentment at TV3’s choice of engaging members of the LGBT community.

Ahlussunna Wal-Jama’a cautioned that the airing of such a program is a threat to Ghana’s culture especially at a time when school children are home.

“We see this as inimical and a threat to the Ghanaian culture fibre”

“ASWAJ strongly registers it’s displeasure with the management of TV3 for allowing the outcast program to be telecast on its media station”, the statement said.

Ahlussunna Wal-Jama’a also called on authorities to censor such programs on TV.

The group advised TV3 and all other TV stations to refrain from showing LGBT content on their platforms.

Earlier, a crowd had stormed the premises of TV3 to protest the airing of its ‘The Day Show’ which focuses on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community.
