GTA CEO honoured at Pre-Grammy awards in Los Angeles 

Mrs Maame Efua Houadjeto, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), has received a prestigious international award at the Pre-Grammy Awards Ceremony held in Los Angeles, United States of America. 

She emerged winner of the Global Cultural Ambassador category, which recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and influence in advancing culture, heritage, and global cultural exchange. 

The ceremony, held as part of activities marking the Grammy Awards Week, brought together cultural leaders, creatives, policymakers, and global change-makers from across the world.

Other award categories include excellence in social impact, creative leadership, justice advocacy, community development, and humanitarian service. 

The event was jointly organised by JOBSEEK AI, the Los Angeles County Justice Care and Opportunity Department, Prison Professors, and PBCG. 

The others were the ANE Foundation, Only Miracles, The Help In Hand Project, and Taking Action for Good, a coalition of organisations committed to empowerment, inclusion, innovation, and positive 

Mrs Houadjeto, in her acceptance speech, expressed gratitude to the organisers, noting that the recognition underscored Ghana’s growing prominence on the international cultural and tourism stage. 

It also reinforced the GTA’s commitment to cultural diplomacy, destination branding, and sustainable tourism development, she said.

Mrs Houadjeto said the honour also aligned with Ghana’s broader cultural and creative economy agenda, positioning the country as a welcoming hub for authentic cultural experiences, global collaboration, and meaningful cultural exchange. 

“This award is not just personal; it is a celebration of Ghana’s rich culture and heritage,” she said. 

 “I warmly invite the world to Ghana to experience our culture firsthand and enjoy the evergreen hospitality of the Ghanaian people.”
