Accra Hearts of Oak recorded their second consecutive win of the season after defeating Techiman Eleven Wonders 1-0 in week three of the 2025-26 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Enock Asubonteng’s first-half strike was enough to secure all three points for the Phobians, who temporarily go top of the league with seven points from three matches.

Following their impressive away win over Dreams FC last week, coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani was poised to get his first home victory against an Eleven Wonders side who are yet to win a game following their return to the GPL.

With key players like Kelvin Osei Asibey and Mohammed Hussein missing in action for the Phobians, the Eleven Wonders encounter was a stern task for the home side.

Hearts of Oak were very comfortable in possession during the opening minutes of the game with incessant pressure on Eleven Wonders.

The Phobians took the lead in the 18th minute after Asubonteng bounced on a loose ball in the penalty box and struck home a ferocious left-foot drive.

The Phobians were largely in control of the game but squandered many opportunities to double their lead in the first half.

Eleven Wonders were very useful on the counter-attacks and had good chances, but Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare proved why he is currently the best shot stopper in the country.

After an eventful first half, the second half was a more balanced affair, with Hearts of Oak looking the likely side to double their lead.

Ransford Mensah came close to making it two for Hearts of Oak halfway through the second half, but his solo effort was impressively saved by Wonders goalkeeper J. Baah.

However, the Phobians were not too impressive in the last quarter of the match, as they were put on the back foot by Eleven Wonders.

Benjamin Asare had to come up with impressive saves for Hearts of Oak in the late stages of the game to ensure they secured all three points.

Next up for Hearts is an away fixture against Bechem United before they come back to Accra in week five for the Super Clash against rivals Asante Kotoko.
