Hohoe MP launches ‘Agric for All’ project to boost agricultural production

Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, Member of Parliament (MP) of Hohoe has launched an ‘Agric for All’ project aimed at boosting agriculture in the constituency.

The first phase of the project saw the supply of fertilizers, processed maize, processed rice, farm implements, and tractors.

Mr Tsekpo said the core goal was to promote mechanised farming and boost food production across the constituency.

“Our vision is clear for every traditional area to have at least one tractor to support local farmers”.

He said he remained committed to using the Common Fund to support every sector in the constituency until the “last person is positively impacted by President John Mahama’s vision”.

Mr Tsekpo said anyone who desired to venture into farming would receive support in a small but meaningful way to succeed.

He appealed to beneficiaries to make good use of the seeds as well as the farm machines to ensure their longevity.

Mr Tsekpo said all opportunities had, so far, were fairly distributed among the traditional areas and the same would be done for future ones.

Mr Prosper Kumi, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) said more projects would be initiated in the coming years and called on the community members in the municipality to approach leadership on development projects.

He said the plan was to give every traditional area at least one tractor or more with other farming implements to aid farming activities and increase food production in the municipality.

Mr Robert Okoh, an Assembly Member, commended the initiative which would greatly boost farming.

He also called for a culture of maintenance.
