Movie producer and actress Tracey Boakye has reacted after the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) issued a letter suspending her.
In a press release authorized by President of FIPAG, James Aboagye, the outfit said the action was necessary due to Tracey Boakye’s recent behaviour on social media.
Tracey Boakye, in the last few days, clashed with popular musician Mzbel on social media over a supposed ‘sugar daddy’.
FIPAG said it was suspending the movie producer for using vulgar and unprintable words against MzBel.
The statement states that Tracey Boakye is “not supposed to take part in any activities during this period until the situation is reviewed.”
In her reaction, the actress descended heavily on the Film Producers Association of Ghana over the association’s press statement announcing her suspension.
Tracey said she has never been part of the Film Producers Association of Ghana, hence can’t understand how she can be suspended.
“It’s been past 8 years since I started movie production and you’ve never promoted me on any of your platforms. I’m not a part of you and everybody knows I am an independent movie producer. Do you people even know me or you want to use this opportunity to trend? You boldly told me I am not a member and would not be allowed to vote before electing your new leaders so how do you come in here? I am even surprised you could even issue this statement,” she said.
Meanwhile, FIPAG President, James Aboagye has responded to Tracey Boakye in an interview on Hitz FM.
According to him, Tracey must not be a member of FIPAG before the association can suspend her.
