Afrobeats singer Kelvyn Brown popularly known as Kelvyn Boy, says he didn’t walk out of the VGMA auditorium because he lost.
The singer stormed out after failing to win an award at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Kelvynboy’s ‘Mea’ which featured Joey B was nominated in the ‘Afrobeats Song of the Year’.
The category also had acts like EL ft AI -Adwuma, King Promise – Comando, Darkovibes ft Kidi – Bless Me, Kwesi Arthur ft Mr Eazi- Nobody, Kidi ft Kwesi Arthur- Mr Badman, DopeNation- Zanku, Guilty Beats ft Mr Eazi and Kwesi Arthur-Pilolo and Wendy Shay -All for you.
On Saturday, August 29, the award was given to twin brothers DopeNation for their song titled ‘Zanku’.
It was reported that immediately the winner of that category was announced, Kelvyn Boy and his entourage walked out of the auditorium.
In an interview with KMJ on Joy Prime’s ‘Showbiz Now’, Kelvyn Boy stated that incident was coincidental.
He explained that he planned to go somewhere so he had to leave and it was not because of the award.
