I wanted to be a lawyer – Shatta Wale

Top Ghanaian artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale might have ended up in the courtroom as a lawyer if not for music.

The ‘Kakai’ hit maker has stated that he wanted to be a lawyer while growing up.

“After school, I wanted to be a lawyer,” he said, adding: “My dad also wanted me to be a lawyer. After school, I told him I wanted to do music for about two years.”

Though Shatta Wale is a global icon in the music space, he reveals that it took sometime to develop the skill.

“When I started as Bandana, I realised that it was not going well. I was not getting money from shows and my record label too was bad. So I took some time to rebrand and come again.”

Shatta Wale, undoubtedly, has the biggest fan base in the Ghana.

He recently featured on American superstar Beyoncé’s track titled ‘Already’.
