Reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ‘Artiste of the Year’, Kuami Eugene says he was not happy with what Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy did at the event last year.
The two Dancehall acts started a fight at 2019 VGMA when Stonebwoy was announced Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.
Shatta Wale and his team walked up stage while Stonebwoy was receiving his award leading to a disruption of the show.
Stonebwoy eventually pulled a gun on stage in what he has described as self-defense.
Kuami Eugene was disappointed that his seniors destroyed an event meant for all artistes and not only them.
“Last year di33 I’m not going to sit here and lie. It’s an award scheme not for two people, it’s for every Ghanaian so if it got messed up because of some two people we can’t act about it and be in the house and complain and be throwing shades at them in our beds. They won’t even hear it to even bring an end to it”, he said.
“I have to be real and say I wasn’t happy about it because if we have to work and get here, it’s been quite a journey and some small argument mess it up and we all have to go home not feeling okay; we can’t just act as if we are happy about it”, he added.
Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been banned indefinitely by the VGMA board.
