The world and basketball fraternity, in particular, was left in shock when Kobe Bryant died in a plane crash on Sunday on his way to a training session with his daughter Gianna.
Reports say, the group was flying to Thousand Oaks, California, for a basketball game, where Gianna was expected to play and Bryant was expected to coach.
All nine persons on board the Sikorsky S-76B helicopter when it crashed and burst into flames died on the spot.
As authorities are yet to officially release the names and identities of the nine people on board, family members and friends of the deceased seem to have confirmed the demise of their loved ones.
This include:
- Kobe Bryant
- Gianna Bryant – 13-year-old-daughter of Kobe Bryant
- John Altobelli – Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa Baseball coach
- Keri Altobelli – wife to coach John Altobelli
- Alyssa Altobelli – 13- year-old basketball player for the Mamba Academy and Gianna Bryant’s teammate
- Christian Mauser – an assistant basketball coach at Harbor Day School in Corona del Mar.
- Sarah Chester
- Payton Chester – Daughter to Sarah Chester
- Ara Zobayan – Pilot flying the Sikorsky S-76B to Thousand Oaks
