Yitzhak Oteng Asamoah, affectionately known as Kwame Oteng, was born on Saturday, May 1, 1994. He was the fifth child and second son among seven siblings of Mr. John Asare Asamoah of the Nana Ekua Manan Nsona Ebusua of Elmina, and Madam Mary Nkukuassah (popularly called Aunty Ama Kwamah) of the Anona Ebusua of Sofokrom in the Sekondi District of the Western Region.
Both parents are alive. Together with his siblings, Yitzhak grew up attending the Deeper Life Bible Church at Essikadu, guided by strong Christian values.
Yitzhak began his education at Redemption Day Care under the guidance of the late Mrs. Theresah Neequaye, a respected educationist. Even at that young age, he excelled, earning the Best Pupil Award before progressing to primary school. He was first enrolled at Nana Nketsiah Primary School, and later transferred to Kissi Methodist Primary School, where his father was working at the time.
For junior high school, he attended Oxford Preparatory School in Kissi, after which he gained admission to St. John’s School, Sekondi, for his secondary education.
He pursued tertiary education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, graduating in 2018.
During his time at the university, Yitzhak undertook internships at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority in Takoradi and at the Births and Deaths Registry in Sekondi. He later served his nation through the National Service Scheme at the Revenue Department of the Shama District Assembly.
Following this, he worked with the Ghana Statistical Service as a Field Officer and later as a District Data Quality Monitor during the Population and Housing Census.
His passion for teaching also saw him serve as a teacher at Better Future Academy in Kissi and at Anglican School in Essikadu, where he earned the affectionate title “Sir.”
In November 2024, Yitzhak secured permanent employment with Cargill Kokoo Sourcing Company and was stationed at Tepa in the Ashanti Region.
Tragically, on August 8, 2025, less than a year into his appointment at Cargill, Yitzhak was involved in a fatal accident. His sudden death has left his parents, siblings, family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him deeply heartbroken.
Yitzhak’s life was marked by promise, diligence, humility, and a commitment to service. Though his journey was cut short, his memory and spirit remain alive in the hearts of all who knew andloved him.
