John Abdulai Jinapor, Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu and Ranking Member of the Mines and Energy Committee, has emphasized that stabilizing Ghana’s power supply will be a top priority for President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
In a Facebook post dated December 29, 2024, Jinapor highlighted ongoing load shedding issues managed by GRIDCo and underscored the urgency of addressing these challenges to ensure consistent electricity service nationwide.
He cautioned that failing to resolve the power supply problems promptly could adversely affect the new administration’s reputation.
This statement comes amid public concerns and protests from citizens apprehensive about the potential resurgence of erratic power outages, commonly referred to as “dumsor,” which have troubled the country in the past.
Jinapor’s remarks reflect the incoming government’s commitment to prioritizing energy sector reforms to achieve a stable and reliable power supply for all Ghanaians.
