The inter-community football gala formed part of activities marking this year’s Savannah Fest, one of MTN Ghana’s key regional platforms for connecting with communities, celebrating local culture, rewarding customers and strengthening relationships with traditional leaders, businesses, youth groups and stakeholders.

Mr Richard Asamane, Area Sales Manager, North, MTN Ghana, speaking during the beginning of the first set of matches on Friday, said it sought to promote peaceful coexistence as well as offer young footballers the platform to showcase their talents.

Mr Asamane urged the participating clubs and their supporters to remain peaceful and be decorous throughout the competition to ensure that the gala achieved its objective of bringing communities together.

He said MTN Ghana considered communities and customers as the bedrock of its business, and as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, was rewarding its customers through various initiatives such as giving away nine Toyota Land Cruiser Prados, cash prizes and other lifestyle and digital rewards.
