It was fake: Stonebwoy questions Shatta Wale’s sincerity in 2019 peace accord

Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy has expressed skepticism regarding the sincerity of his 2019 reconciliation with fellow musician Shatta Wale. In a recent interview on Angel FM, Stonebwoy stated, “I knew from the start that it wasn’t genuine. Shatta and his team had their own agenda. They weren’t really interested in making peace; it was all for show.”

Despite harboring doubts, Stonebwoy participated in the peace conference, emphasizing that his decision was motivated by a desire to benefit fans and the nation. He remarked, “This is someone who has insulted me countless times. I had my doubts about reconciling with him, but I went ahead for the sake of our fans and the country. It wasn’t about me—it was about the bigger picture.”

Additionally, Stonebwoy addressed the 2020 Asaase Sound Clash, asserting that the concept originated with him, contrary to popular belief that credits Asaase Radio. He clarified, “That clash? It was my idea. Shatta Wale can twist the story all he wants, but the truth is, I proposed it. Asaase Radio came on board later to support. People need to know the facts.”

These revelations offer insight into the complexities of the relationship between the two artists, suggesting that underlying tensions may persist despite public gestures of reconciliation.
