Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Hon. Dorcas Afo-Toffey, commemorated her birthday on May 4th with a targeted intervention at the maternity ward of the Half Assini Hospital.
Through her representative, Mr. John Nyamekeh, the lawmaker donated essential supplies, including baby products, hygiene kits, and other critical maternal and neonatal care items.
The donation was formally received by the Hospital Administrator, Eunice Naa Tarchie Nartey, who expressed the facility’s deep appreciation.

In a significant relief to new families, Hon. Afo-Toffey also cleared all outstanding medical bills for mothers who delivered at the hospital on her birthday, ensuring they could return home without financial strain.
“Childbirth should be a moment of joy, not anxiety,” Mr. Nyamekeh conveyed, reiterating the MP’s dedication to strengthening maternal health services in district hospitals.
The gesture underscores the persistent resource challenges faced by the maternity ward, a critical healthcare hub for surrounding communities.
Hospital staff praised the intervention as timely, while visibly emotional beneficiaries noted the unexpected relief would profoundly impact their families.
Hon. Afo-Toffey reaffirmed that improving maternal and child health outcomes remains a cornerstone of her agenda for the Jomoro Constituency.
