Sports journalist Gary Al-Smith has confirmed that he is one of the five people who have contracted Covid-19 among The Multimedia Group staff.
The company on Thursday, June 18, confirmed that five of its employees have tested positive for coronavirus.
The five, who work in the company’s business offices in Accra were tested and confirmed positive by the Ghana Health Service.
In a press statement, the company stated that other staff members who came into contact with the affected have been isolated and will also be tested.
Gary Al-Smith after the announcement by his employers revealed that he will start sharing his experiences as a Covid-19 patient with the rest of Ghanaians.

“As per this statement, Multimedia has recorded five cases of COVID-19.
I’m one of the five.
After consultation with my family, we have decided that from tonight, I’ll be speaking on radio and TV about my experience.
On this page, I will be chronicling my daily experiences and how I feel, every step of the way.
My family and I believe this can be my small way of battling the stigmatization problem we face in the country.
I’m doing very well, thankfully, and everyone has been very supportive”
