Mr Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, the Member of Parliament of Keta constituency, in the Volta Region, has supported the 2025 edition of Jubilee Radio’s Hogbetsotso Health Walk with 400 branded polo shirts.
The presentation, which took place at the Parliament House of Accra, highlighted the commitment to promoting community health and participation in the Hogbetsotso Festival celebrations.
Mr Gakpey, in a brief speech during the presentation, praised Keta based local radio station Jubilee radio for their consistent collaboration and initiatives that foster unity, fitness, and social cohesion among the people especially during Hogbetsotso seasons.
“I want to encourage all residents within the Keta Municipality and beyond to use the opportunities and attend this year’s Anlo Hogbetsotso health walk oragnised in collaboration with jubilee radio”, Mr Gakpe stated.
He explained that the Hogbetsotso festival was more than just a cultural event but a platform for economic activity and community growth and development and urged public to showcase the rich potential of the Anlo people and take advantage of the opportunities the festival brings.
Mr Gakpey commended the chiefs and people of Anlo for a peaceful and joyous celebration for the past years and emphasized that unity and togetherness was the foundation that promote development and believed that the festival has the potentials to unite the people and promote development in various areas.
“This event has become a significant part of the Hogbetsotso Festival celebrations; it promotes physical activities, healthy living, and community engagement. It also creates opportunities for the people of Anlo and beyond to come together and celebrate their rich cultural heritage.”
Mr Innocent Gameli Adika, the Manager of Kekeli Radio in Ho, the sister radio station of Jubilee radio, who received the items on behalf of other staff, thanked the MP for the kind support that would promote the successfulness of the event.
He said that Jubilee Radio Hogbetsotso Health Walk was an annual event that preceded the grand durbar of the festival and thousands of participants from across the Volta Region and beyond were expected to attend the event which aimed to promote fitness, health, and social cohesion.
Some residents of Keta and Anloga, Ghana News Agency interviewed expressed readiness for the health walk and praised Mr Gakpey for the support to promote this year’s event.
The GNA also gathered that this year’s edition of health walk would take place on Friday, October 31, with participants expected to converge at the forecourt of Jubilee Radio at Vui before proceeding to the Aborigines Beach Resort where various activities including aerobics and other games would take place.

Many other important dignitaries expected to grace the event include Togbi Agbesi Awusu II, Awadada of Anlo, Mr Richard Kwame Sefe, MP Anloga, Dr Senanu Kwasi Djokoto, the National Deputy Director of National Health Insurance Scheme, among others.
The Hogbetsotso 2025 Health Walk is on the theme: “Step by step, we celebrate life, health, and unity – walking together as one for a brighter tomorrow.”
