The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, Rev. Martin Amenaki, has expressed his admiration for the leadership and vision of the Mama Deza 2025 Queens and the organisers of the annual Mama Deza Pageant during a courtesy visit to his office.
The meeting formed part of the group’s pre-event engagements ahead of the grand finale of the pageant, which will take place on the eve of the De Za Festival, scheduled for Friday, October 24.
Discussions during the visit centred on how the Mama Deza brand could collaborate with the Ketu North Municipal Assembly to champion initiatives that empower young women, promote cultural identity, and enhance social development across communities in the municipality.
Rev. Amenaki praised the organisers for using the beauty pageant not only as a celebration of culture but also as a platform for youth empowerment, leadership development, and social impact.
“It was a pleasure to host the Mama Deza Queens and organisers of this year’s event. I am particularly impressed by their vision and commitment to using the Mama Deza platform as a force for positive change,” he said.
“The Assembly remains open to partnerships that align with our broader agenda of inclusiveness, youth development, and community transformation.”
He noted that empowering young women through cultural and educational initiatives remains a key priority for the Assembly, adding that such programmes help nurture confidence, leadership skills, and civic responsibility among the youth.
“Together, we can build a future where the potential of every young woman is recognised, nurtured, and celebrated,” the MCE added.
The Mama Deza Beauty Pageant, which has become a major highlight of the De Za Festival, seeks to project the rich cultural heritage of the people of Ketu North while equipping young women with life skills, social values, and community leadership experience.
The organisers expressed appreciation to the MCE for his support and encouragement, pledging to strengthen collaboration with the Assembly in areas such as women empowerment projects, tourism promotion, and community outreach programmes.
The 2025 edition of the Mama Deza grand finale is expected to draw a large audience from across the Volta Region and beyond, as contestants compete for the prestigious crown through performances that showcase intelligence, culture, and creativity.
