Kofi Boakye Named in Mahama’s Security Coordinating Committee

President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has appointed a six-member interim National Security Coordinating Team to oversee security operations as his administration transitions into office.

The team, led by former Minister for the Interior, Prosper Douglas Bani, will commence duties on January 7, 2025. The setting up of the team aims to ensure a seamless handover and maintain national security during the transition period, sources say.

The appointed members are:

  • Prosper Douglas Bani – Former Minister for the Interior (Team Leader)
  • Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.) – Former Chief of Defence Staff
  • Kofi Totobi Quakyi – Former Minister for National Security
  • Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq. – Former National Security Coordinator
  • Brigadier General Fuseini Iddrissu (Rtd.)
  • COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.)
