Krachi East MCE flattens old public toilet structures in Dambai

Krachi East Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has demolished most old and dilapidated public toilet structures in Dambai township.

The structures, which were deemed to be health hazards, have been a thorn for the community, posing a risk to public health and sanitation.

The Assembly teamed with the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) coordinator, moved early morning to Dambai old town, Wankayaw and Lakeside to flatten the structures, leaving many residents relieved.

The demolition exercise was part of the MCE’s efforts to improve sanitation and hygiene in the municipal capital.

Speaking to Mr. Seth Kumah, the MCE’s personal assistant explained that, the structures were danger to society and posed a risk to public health.

According to the Aide, the old structures were a threat to their communities and the assembly could not wait any longer to take action.

Residents who were engaged by the Ghana News Agency (GNA), welcomed the move and called it a step in the right direction towards improving sanitation and hygiene in the municipality, particularly with reports of many typhoid cases in the Municipality.
