Kuami Eugene reveals why he has not created a fanbase

Ghanaian singer Kuami Eugene has explained his reason for not creating a fanbase like his colleagues.

The young singer disclosed in an interview with Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, that these groups such as SarkNation, BhimNation, Shatta Movement among others bring about segregation among Ghanaian music lovers.

As a result, Ghanaians are not able to support musicians fully because of the division it creates.

“I just don’t second the notion that we live in this small country with not even 50 million people but there are lots of nations in this small nation” he said.

The Lynx Entertainment signee said in the interview that he would prefer that when he has a show or music out, all Ghanaians would attend his concert and not just his fanbase.

He added that Nigerian music lovers support every artiste regardless of which fanbase they belong to and that is because they see themselves as one people.

That is however not the case in Ghana as these divisions and fan groups lead to fights among themselves and even sometimes the artistes.

Kuami Eugene alongside Rex Omar, Kidi, amongst others are expected to thrill patrons at the Farmers Day edition of the MTN Music Festival.

The December 6 event is expected to take place at the Accra International Conference Center.
