In a thrilling Premier League encounter at Villa Park, Brighton & Hove Albion salvaged a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, thanks to a late goal from Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey.

Brighton took an early lead in the 12th minute when Simon Adingra curled a shot into the net. Aston Villa responded just before halftime; a VAR review confirmed a foul on Morgan Rogers by Joao Pedro, leading to Ollie Watkins converting the penalty. Shortly after the break, Rogers scored to put Villa ahead. However, in the 81st minute, Lamptey delivered a powerful low shot past goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, leveling the score and ending Brighton’s seven-match winless streak.

This result places Brighton in 10th position on the Premier League table, with Lamptey earning praise for his versatility and attacking contributions, marking his second goal of the season.
