Ghanaians are getting increasingly uncomfortable, with the constant attempts to sneak the LGBT+ community into the country.

An International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association is set to host a Regional Conference, dubbed ‘Sankofa’ in Ghana from July 27 to 31, 2020.

This event, being the 5th of its kind, is scheduled to take place in Accra and is being organised Pan Africa ILGA.

The theme for the conference will be, “Sankofa: Looking back to our roots – Reclaiming our right,” the South African-registered group said on its website.

It is unclear how Ghanaians will receive or embrace this development, but with the recent fierce and uncompromising rejections Ghanaians have exhibited towards the idea of the LGBT movement in the country, this conference is not likely to hold without some resistance.

Law lecturer and fierce critic of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) movement, Moses Foh-Amoaning, has continuously slammed efforts by foreign entities to sneak homosexuality into the country, describing the act as a sin and detrimental to the citizenry.

Included in the activities lined for the five-day Pan Africa ILGA is set to include a one-day donor pre-conference for grantmakers invested in Africa’s LGBTQI human rights movements.
