The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has assured Ghanaians that President John Dramani Mahama is ready to assent to the LGBTQ bill as soon as Parliament passes it.

According to the Minister, the Speaker of Parliament has indicated that the bill is likely to be passed before the end of the year.

“Once it is passed and presented to the President, he will not hesitate to give his assent,” Ibrahim stated.

He also dismissed claims from sections of the Minority that President Mahama has failed Ghanaians on the issue, describing such assertions as unfounded.
