Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has lashed out at presenters of TV Africa for discussing her marital status on their show.
The presenters of the show called “Pae Mu Ka” slammed Lydia Forson for saying that it was stupid for people to ask her when she was getting married.
According to one of the ladies on the show called Area Sister, a woman between the ages of 26 to 35 should be married with at least three children.
Lydia Forson was however not very pleased with the discussion between the ladies as she penned a long message on her instagram page.
Lydia known to be a no-nonsense lady chose to calmly handle the situation and said that people who berate her have no idea what she has been through in life.
She also expressed her shock as to why a married woman would be so engrossed in another woman’s business and went on to say that it shows just what kind of person Area Sister really is.
The plus sized actress also mentioned that she did not understand why people are so worried and concerned about her marital status and claimed that many women would suffer in silence just because they want to have a title attached to their names.
In her post on instagram, she wrote:
“There are so many nasty ways I can respond to this, but I’m going to choose not to.
“And before you tell me to ignore, you have to walk a mile in my shoes, to understand how it feels to be constantly berated by people who know nothing about you, your life, struggles etc.
“Why a happily married woman, would be so engrossed in the life of another woman not only baffles me but exposes a lot about her.
“It seems this is the only way to gain popularity and notoriety these days; but my dear you must be prepared for every smoke it comes with.
“So when things start to fall apart in your life, you know you laid the foundation.
“Why my marital status is a constant subject of conversation is something I will never understand, does it feed, clothe or improve your life in anyway?
“These are the people who’ll be suffering in their homes, crying at night, suffering abuse but will stay silent to maintain their “title”. Happy people rarely worry about other people.”
