Veteran actress, Madam Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono has advised showbiz persons in the country to desist from engaging in partisan politics.

She makes this call ahead of the 2020 elections in December that is already attracting tensions among political parties.

Maame Dokono believes that one’s career in the sector will be negatively affected and the damage caused will be beyond the benefits one will gain.

The veteran actress stressed that party politics is never good for anyone who wants to sustain a vibrant career.

“If the party you join loses, you will lose everything and then you will be sidelined by producers in the movie fraternity, and if you are in the movie industry, those doing movies will not use you because they will say people will not buy their product, they will avoid you.

“They will say your time has passed. I think the money you will get from them is only when you are campaigning. I will advise young ones to be very careful and remain neutral. I did experience that. It’s just recently that they started using me,” she said on Hitz FM.

In the past, the veteran actress complained about being a victim of political targeting after campaigning once for the NDC and another time for the NPP.
