Man allegedly stabs 'Okada' rider halfway through journey

Kwame Boamah aka Kwame ‘Ayigbe’ has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing a commercial motor rider (popularly called Okada), halfway through their journey, with a bread knife.

Kwame Ayigbe who bolted with the motorbike, hired Fatawu Moro,19 to transport him from Komeso to Akyem Afosu in the Eastern Region on January 8th,2020.

According to reports, at a spot between Akrofonso and Afosu, Kwame ordered Fatawu to stop in order to allow him attend to nature’s call.

Upon stopping, he stabbed the rider and ran away with the motorbike. Fatawu is said to have lost consciousness but was later found by a Good Samaritan, who took him to the New Abrem government hospital

An official report was made to the police two days after the incident and Kwame was arrested in a neighbouring town. He was been arraigned before the Koforidua Circuit Court B on Monday, January 13, and has been convicted with sentencing deferred to January 28.
