State Prosecutors have stated in an Accra Circuit court that investigations into the Menzgold scandal is at an advanced stage, but will need more time to start the trial.
Nana Appiah Mensah, Menzgold CEO, also popularly known as NAM1 together with two of his relatives are facing 61 charges.
These charges include; sale of minerals without a license, unlawful deposit-taking and money laundering.

Nana Appiah Mensah is currently on bail.
The owner of Menzgold was detained in Dubai in December 2018, where he was charged with defrauding a business partner in Dubai.
He was released after months of legal battle as prosecutors in Dubai could not prove the case of fraud against him.
Making his submission in court on Wednesday, ASP Sylvestre Asare informed the court that the state did not need a long adjournment. They only need till January, by which time they will be ready to proceed with a trial.
The court as was presided by Harriet Akweley expressed concerns as to why the prosecutor did not conduct thorough investigations before levelling charges against the accused.
ASP Asare alleged the state had planned to amend the charges sheet present to the court but decided against it due to fresh developments.
He assured the court investigations were far advanced.
The request for adjournment was however denied by the court as it set the next court date for December 23, 2019.
