Mr Edmund Sherrill, the Head Pastor of Mt. Enon Baptist Church, Accra, has donated food items to support children at the Street Academy.
The bags of rice, non-alcoholic beverages, biscuits and other groceries, among other things, are to support the feeding and development of the underprivileged children.
Mr Sherrill said giving back to society was important to him, inspired by Scripture.

He explained that he was introduced to the Academy by his brother and decided to support the initiative after learning about its work.
“I was not born into a privileged family and have personally experienced some of the challenges the children are currently facing,” he told the Ghana News Agency.
He said over the years he had drilled five boreholes across the Greater Accra Region and made donations to several schools as part of his commitment to improving lives.
“Whenever there is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, I do my best to be present and offer my support,” he added.
Ataa Lartey, the Executive Director of Street Academy, said that although the Academy had supported underprivileged children for the past 40 years, feeding remained a major challenge.
“My main focus is feeding. Some of them come here just to eat and then leave. For many of the children, this is the only place they are assured of a meal. We are grateful to Pastor Edmund Sherrill for his kindness,” he said.
Ataa Lartey noted that the Academy had nurtured many successful individuals over the years and remained committed to ensuring that every child had access to education and the opportunity to grow.
He said each child taken off the streets and re-enrolled in school strengthened the Academy’s belief that lasting change was possible.
The Street Academy is a non-governmental organisation located behind the Arts Centre in Accra, dedicated to supporting and empowering street-connected children.
