Madam Adjoa Wiafe, the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, MTN Ghana has announced that the company has invested one billion US Dollars in its network to improve upon quality of services.
Madam Wiafe said the investment was to respond to the changing dynamics within the industry.
The company had prioritised connectivity, fintech and digital tools to propel it from being a telco to a platform player.
Madam Wiafe at the 2025 MTN Editor’s and Stakeholder’s Forum at Takoradi said the company was going to undertake more investments activities, adding that as a responsible corporate citizen it aimed to contribute meaningfully to society.
She said MTN was also focusing on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and through that they envisaged to minimise its carbon footprint to cut carbon emissions to a net-zero by 2040.
She said under the company’s economic empowerment project, they were currently engaging in smart farming to provide jobs.
Mr Reuben Opata, the Chief Technical Officer, MTN Ghana said in 2026 more communities would be connected to their horizontal expansion drive.
He later urged customers to be mindful of the devices they used as it also played a major role in data consumption.
