Ghanaian musician, Ofori Amponsah, has instructed his lawyers to take on some news portals and bloggers who claimed that he had a hand in the death of Kofi B.

Highlife singer Kofi B died on February, 2, 2020 ahead of a performance in the Central Region together with colleague singer Kofi Nti.

The two had gone to perform at the birthday ceremony of the chief of Abease Dominase when the sad incident occurred.

Just after Kofi B’s demise, videos popped up on social media, where the late Kofi B was seen complaining bitterly about treatment meted out to him by Ofori Amponsah.

Kofi B was said to have been cursed by Ofori Amponsah when the two had a misunderstanding.

This led some news portals to report that Ofori Amponsah had a hand in the death of Kofi B.

Reacting to the allegation, he said he had been friends with the late singer for close to twenty years and that he stands to gain nothing from killing a friend.

Ofori Amponsah said that though they had their misunderstandings, he was not God to kill another person.

He added that his lawyers might soon press charges against persons making the wild claim against him.

“Sometimes people who create such stories should be taken on because it is a very serious allegation. When you don’t have evidence but go-ahead to broadcast such a story… I mean I’m even talking to my lawyers I don’t want to talk for now”, he said on Kofi TV.

A remembrance service for the late Kofi B was held at Achimota on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
