Netflix streams ‘Potato Potahto’ by Shirley Frimpong Manso

Shirley Frimpong Manso’s ‘Potato Potahto’ is the latest African movie to get a slot on Netflix.

The movie producer announced the new feat on social media and expressed her excitement after reaching an agreement with the company.

C.E.O of Sparrow Pictures, Shirley Frimpong Manso, is said to have signed a deal with Netflix to stream her acclaimed romantic comedy, Potato Potahto from 15th December.

“Exciting News!!! Our film #PotatoPotahtoFilm starts streaming on NETFLIX on Sunday 15th December 2019. Set your reminder now cos Santa came early this Christmas #ChristmasSpecial #ComingToNetflix,”, she wrote on Instagram.

Potato Potahto is an African comedy of errors focused on a divorced couple who cannot agree on divorce terms and settle for co-ownership of their matrimonial home and other properties.

Cast in the movie include actor OC Ukeje and Ghana’s Joselyn Dumas who play the lead roles, alongside Joke Silva, Blossom Chuckwujekwu, Chris Attoh, Nikki Samonas, Adjetey Annang, Lala Akindoju and Victoria Michaels.

The film was first premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas in Ghana on 30th November 2017.

It followed up with a successful showing at Cannes Film Festival, Durban International Film Festival and the British Urban Film Festival.

Potato Potahto was also part of the official selection for the Film Africa Festival which ran from October 27 to November 5.
