Ghanaian rapper Amerado Burner claims Nigeria has no rappers to boast of except singers.
The ‘Menpe’ composer argued that Nigeria doesn’t come anywhere close to Ghana when it comes to rap music.
He, however, acknowledged the presence of Nigeria’s M.I but quickly added that the few rappers in Nigeria have become singers.
“Nigerians don’t have rappers, do they? Big respect to MI but all their rappers have turned to singers. When it comes to rap there is not a match. Ghana got it”, he told MzGee on TV3.
Amerado also bragged about the exploits of rap music in Ghana stating that the biggest artist in Ghana is a rapper.
“Our biggest artiste in Ghana is Sarkodie and he’s a rapper. Rap music sells. It all depends on how you present it”, he added.
He also threw his support behind the new movement in the Ashanti Region of Ghanan dubbed ‘Kumerica’.
